Duel Flowers

This morning Evelyn and I went to visit Bruce (she did surprisingly well considering there was no one there for her to be brave with)  about the constant pain in my neck. He prescribed me a new pain killer and physical therapy for a suspected neck sprain.

After the appointment we went to Safeway to pick up my prescription and when we got the the pharmacy Evelyn started asking for a sticker. She knows she's gotten them there before, I'm just glad she didn't remember the sucker they gave her last time. She was polite and remembered her manners so the clerk let her choose a dinosaur. She picked a lime green and purple one. Ironic.

As I walked around grabbing a few groceries for this weekend she saw the floral counter and started excitedly telling me "I want a balloon, I want a balloon, I want a balloon from there!" I told her she had to ask the lady for a balloon herself and she did, following her request with the cheesiest and cutest drawn out "pleeeeeaaasssssseeee". How can you say no to that? The clerk was the same girl who's normally there and I think she remembered from the last few times when Evelyn said Purple was her favorite color because she put a purple ribbon on it for her. Evelyn was elated! And she saw the hearts dangling from the bottom and for the first time ever she accepted the balloon directly from the clerk and told her "thank you very much" very nicely. Finally at check out, she again got excited saying "I want a green sticker, I want a green sticker, please". The checker didn't understand her fast speech so I translated but told him not to worry about it. He looked and didn't have any green stickers at the register so he walked 3 lanes down just to get her one. Very nice thing to do. Of course my swag hound of a daughter followed it with a "thanks". At least she uses her manners.

I did manage to get the baby's hair done this afternoon, at her request of course. She discovered my drawer of hair flowers for her and decided that the single flower I put in her hair this morning was not enough. She had to have two flowers in her hair. Lucky for me her choices matched her outfit.

I don't think I've ever really appreciated how much car shopping sucks. It sucks a lot! I spent most of the day on the phone with the insurance companies and looking online for a used car. So far, no such luck.
So cute together!
When Cliff got home I didn't have dinner ready. Actually, I didn't even have dinner thought about. Since we really don't have any food at the house anyway and we fed Evelyn crap yesterday he took us to Brookfields for a slightly more balanced meal.

And of course, we had to take silly pictures with the pod. She'd make a face, then I'd copy it and try to capture the picture. She is such a joy!
