Everyone I know who's bought the Vibram five fingers have loved them. I love the idea, I like being barefoot and hate flip flops, but priced at $100 for ugly shoes I haven't been willing to get any. Until now. I found a pair in my size at the Folsom REI used gear sale, returned because the sizing was wrong. For the record, there were WAY more to choose from in Roseville, but I didn't know what size I wore at that time.
I found these things for $40. I wear them most days, the kids seem to love how goofy they look, and I have to say they ARE really comfortable and they breath much better than I would of suspected. I feel like a creepy tree frog, but I'm comfortable, so I guess I'll get over it.
